Thrill seekers are gearing up for the country's biggest action sports and music festival as Relentless NASS returns to the region today. The National Adventure Sport Show, now in its 13th year, is morphing into Europe's premier action sport event.

This year the event, at the Bath and West Showground near Shepton Mallet, will boast the nation's first World Cup Skateboarding event, attracting the biggest names in the sport. Urban sports fans will get a rare opportunity to see some of the most daring skills and tricks in a world-class competition – all on a street course designed specially for the event.

This is somewhere to see the professionals and amateurs show off their skating, BMXing and biking skills. It is a weekend packed full of stunts and adrenaline rushes, with a dose of great sounds for good measure. There are skate, street, dirt and freestyle demonstrations and competitions. Andrew Topham, events director at Sports Vision, said: "We are proud to welcome the World Cup of Skateboarding to the UK at the 2010 Relentless NASS.

"The introduction of a UK leg of the tour demonstrates the growth of action sports in the UK and Relentless NASS will feature the world's best riders. "Mixed with some of the UK's coolest bands, this year's event promises to be the biggest yet."

Texan pop-punkers Bowling For Soup will be headlining on Friday night, with dance duo Chase & Status performing a live set on Saturday.This year's event will also feature the crazy skills of the mountain bike events, including the Animal Mountain Bike Tour and the King of Dirt events; a crowd-pleasing Slalom Skate event; the UK's finest free runners in parkour and a technical display of fancy footwork in the Freestyle Skate.
