Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation in collaboration with Adventure Club of Pakistan is organising Under-19 Rock Climbing Competition at Margalla Hills. More than 150 students are participating in the competition. This competition has been arranged with a view to encourage extra curricular activities amongst the youth. This competition is open for male and female climbers for three categories i.e. under-14, under 16 and under 19. The event has become more relevant due to the fact that this competition will be concluded on the December 11, which is also being celebrated as the International Mountains Day. The concluding prize distribution ceremony will be held at Daman-e-Koh. International Mountain Day is an opportunity to create awareness about the importance of mountains to life, to highlight the opportunities and constraints in mountain development and to build partnerships that will bring positive change to the world’s mountains and highlands.
