National Ski team arrived back from India after successful participation in 1st South Asian Winter Games, which were held in Auli and Dehradun. The regional event, which was hosted by India, was attended by all SAARC nations and comprised a variety of snow-games including Ice Hockey and Ski sports. The national Ski team competed in Alpine and Cross-country skiing events.
The 27-member national contingent consisted of male and female skiers and gave a remarkable performance by bagging one Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze medals in various events. Miss Ifrah Wali won Gold in Giant Slalom, Amina Wali grabbed two Silvers in Slalom and Giant Slalom and Mir Nawaz Jnr bagged one Silver and a Bronze in Slalom and Giant Slalom respectively. The Patron-in-Chief, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman congratulated the ski team for putting up a good display at the Winter Games.
