A former fashion model and co-owner of a Dallas clothing store died Tuesday morning in a Denver hospital after she collapsed while skiing in Aspen, the Dallas Morning News reported. Shelley Musselman, 59, suffered a brain aneurysm, according to the newspaper. She was airlifted to Denver after collapsing on the slopes and died at University of Colorado Hospital.

The Aspen Highlands ski patrol witnessed a woman collapse at 12:24 p.m. while she was skiing on a lower part of the Thunder Bowl run, the Aspen Skiing Co. said in a statement released Tuesday. They responded immediately and found her unconscious and non-responsive. Patrollers administered advanced life support measures, then transported her to an ambulance which took her to Aspen Valley Hospital, the Skico said.

The Skico didn't identify the victim but said she was a 59-year-old woman. She was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, according to Skico. The Dallas Morning News said planning for Musselman's memorial and funeral were under way. She is survived by her husband Jimmy Musselman and four children.

Musselman co-owned the store Forty Five Ten, according to the Morning News. She was considered one of the fashion industry's “good guys,” the paper reported.
